Pengaruh Resiliensi terhadap Psychological Well Being pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung

Abstract

Abstract. Psychological well-being is a condition of individuals who have a positive attitude towards themselves, can make their own decisions, regulate the environment according to their needs, have life goals, and try to develop themselves. (Ryff, 1989). It is important for medical students to have high psychological well-being because they will be recognized as "medical doctors" who are required to maintain a high level of academic achievement to achieve the desired professionalism, so necessary to be able to maintain healthy coping strategies in response to stress, it is closely related to their resilience. Resilience is a personal quality that allows individuals to continue to thrive when facing difficult situations (Connor and Davidson, 2003). This study aims to determine how resilience affects psychological well-being in 248 medical students at the Islamic University of Bandung. The hypothesis of this study is that resilience has a significant influence on psychological well-being in medical students at the Islamic University of Bandung. The method used in the research is quantitative causality method with simple linear regression analysis and the sampling technique used is Proportionate stratified random sampling. The measuring instruments used are The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RIS) for resilience and Ryff Scale of Psychological Well-Being (RSPWB) for Psychological well-being. The results showed that resilience had a significant effect on psychological well-being in medical students at the Islamic University of Bandung with a contribution of 52.8%, meaning that the higher the resilience ability of medical students, the significantly improved their psychological well-being.

Abstrak. Psychological well-being merupakan kondisi individu yang memiliki sikap positif terhadap diri sendiri dan orang lain, dapat membuat keputusan sendiri dan mengatur lingkungan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhannya, memiliki tujuan hidup, serta berusaha mengembangkan dirinya (Ryff, 1989). Mahasiswa kedokteran penting untuk memiliki psychological well being yang tinggi karena mereka akan diakui sebagai "dokter medis" yang diwajibkan untuk mempertahankan tingkat prestasi akademik yang tinggi untuk mencapai tanggung jawab dan profesionalisme yang diinginkan, maka perlu kemampuan untuk mempertahankan strategi coping yang sehat dalam menanggapi stress, hal itu berkaitan erat dengan resiliensi yang dimiliki. Resiliensi adalah kualitas personal yang memungkinkan individu untuk terus berkembang ketika menghadapi situasi sulit (Connor dan Davidson, 2003). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh resiliensi terhadap psychological well-being pada 248 mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah resiliensi memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap psychological well-being pada mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode kuantitatif kausalitas dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu Proportionate stratified random sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RIS) untuk resiliensi dan Ryff Scale of Psychological Well-Being (RSPWB) untuk Psychological well-being. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap psychological well-being pada mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung dengan kontribusi sebesar 52.8%, artinya semakin tinggi kemampuan resiliensi mahasiswa kedokteran maka secara signifikan akan meningkatkan psychological well-being nya.
