Abstract

Abstract. Various studies in Indonesia have shown that women who work have a high risk of experiencing work family conflict. Work family conflict is a situation where there is no balance between work and family (Greenhaus & Beutell, 1985). One of the steps that can be taken to reduce work family conflict is to provide positive support provided by the supervisor. Supervisors can link organizational policies and practices with the perceived needs of their employees (Hammer et al., 2015). So the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of family supportive supervisory behavior on work family conflict. This study uses the work family conflict scale from Carlson, Kacmar, & William (2000) and has been adapted into Indonesian by Kuntari (2018) and for the Family Supportive Supervisor Behavior scale developed by Hammer, Kossek, Zimmerman and Daniels ( 2007) which Andadari (2015) has adapted. The sample of this research is 43 female employees of Bank X, with the method used is quantitative method with causality research design. From the results of this study, it is known that Family Supportive supervisor behavior has an influence of 52.4% on work family conflict.

Abstrak. Berbagai studi di Indonesia telah menunjukan wanita yang bekerja memiliki resiko mengalami work family conflict yang tinggi. Work family conflict adalah keadaan dimana tidak terjadinya keseimbangan antara pekerjaan dan keluarga(Greenhaus & Beutell, 1985).  Salah satu langkah yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi work family conflict dengan memberikan dukungan positif yang diberikan oleh supervisor. Supervisor dapat menghubunghkan kebijakan dan praktik organisasi dengan kebutuhan yang dirasakan oleh para pegawainya. (Hammer et al., 2015). Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mengetahui pengaruh family supporrtive supervisor behavior terhadap work family conflict. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur work family conflict scale  dari Carlson, Kacmar, & William (2000) dan telah diadaptasi ke Bahasa Indonesia oleh Kuntari (2018) dan untuk alat ukur Family Supportive Supervisor Behavior scale yang dikembangkan oleh Hammer, Kossek, Zimmerman dan Daniels (2007) yang telah diadaptsi oleh Andadari (2015). Sample penelitian ini adalah karyawan wanita Bank X berjumlah 43 orang, dengan metode yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif dengan design penelitian kausalitas. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut diketahui bahwa Family Supportive supervisor behavior memberikan pengaruh sebesar 52,4% terahadap work family conflict.
