Hubungan antara Academic Self Efficacy dengan Academic Burnout

Abstract

Students who study at Islamic boarding schools will be faced with various pressures and demands that are different from schools in general, especially in the academic field. Demands and pressures in Islamic boarding school education that cannot be handled efficiently by students can cause students to be vulnerable to academic burnout which will have an impact on the academic success and life of students at Islamic boarding schools. In order to avoid academic burnout, students need adequate academic self-efficacy. Academic self-efficacy will determine the level of effort, emotional reactions and resilience of students in facing the challenges and demands that exist in Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the close relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout for class III senior high school students at Pondok Modern Al-Aqsa. Measurements were made using the Academic Self Efficacy Scale and the Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Survey. Respondents in this study amounted to 93 students which is the total population of class III high school students at Pondok Modern Al-Aqsa. The method used in this study is a correlational method with a quantitative approach. The analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank statistical test. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout in class III SMA Pondok Modern Al-Aqsha students with a correlation coefficient of -0.362.

Peserta didik yang menjalani studi di Pondok Pesantren akan dihadapkan dengan berbagai tekanan dan tuntutan yang berbeda dengan sekolah pada umumnya terutama dalam bidang akademik.. Tuntutan dan tekanan dalam pendidikan Pondok Pesantren yang tidak dapat diatasi secara efisien oleh santri dapat menyebabkan santri rentan terkena academic burnout yang akan berdampak pada kesuksesan akademik dan kehidupan santri di Pondok Pesantren. Agar dapat terhindar dari academic burnout santri memerlukan academic self-efficacy yang memadai. Academic self-efficacy akan menentukan tingkat usaha, reaksi emosional dan ketahanan santri dalam menghadapi tantangan dan tuntutan yang ada di Pondok Pesantren. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keeratan hubungan antara academic self-efficacy dengan academic burnout santri SMA kelas III di Pondok Modern Al-Aqsha. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala Academic Self Efficacy Scale dan Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Survey. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 93 orang santri yang merupakan jumlah populasi dari santri SMA kelas III Pondok Modern Al-Aqsha. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Analisis dilakukan dengan uji statistic Rank Spearman, hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara academic self-efficacy dengan academic burnout pada santri SMA kelas III Pondok Modern Al-Aqsha dengan besar koefisien korelasi -0,362.
