Pengaruh Academic Self-Efficacy terhadap Academic Burnout pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran

Abstract

Abstract. During the pandemic, an increase in burnout rates was found mostly in professional services such as health workers and hospital staff. However, it has now been found that burnout occurs in undergraduate medical students. This study aims to determine the level of academic self-efficacy and academic burnout, as well as to see how much influence academic self-efficacy has on academic burnout in medical students in Bandung City during the pandemic. The theory used is the concept of academic self-efficacy theory from Zajacova (2005) and Maslach's (2002) theory to explain the concept of academic burnout. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a causal research design to explain the influence of academic self-efficacy variables on academic burnout. The measuring instrument used is the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale compiled by Zajacova, et al (2005) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) compiled by Schaufeli, et al (2002) which has been adapted into Indonesian. Participants in this study were 294 medical students from 3 universities in the city of Bandung who filled out online questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of academic self-efficacy on academic burnout for medical students in Bandung City by 56.2%.

Abstrak. Selama pandemi, adanya peningkatan tingkat burnout yang sebagaian besar ditemukan pada layanan profesi seperti tenaga kesehatan dan staf rumah sakit. Namun, kini telah ditemukan bahwa burnout terjadi sejak dini yaitu selama proses pendidikan kedokteran atau mahasiswa sarjana kedokteran. Penelitian ini bertujuan. untuk mengetahui tingkat academic self-efficacy dan academic burnout, serta melihat seberapa besar pengaruh academic self-efficacy terhadap academic burnout pada mahasiswa kedokteran di Kota Bandung selama masa pandemi. Teori yang digunakan adalah konsep teori academic self-efficacy dari Zajacova (2005) dan teori Maslach (2002) untuk menjelaskan konsep academic burnout. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan. kuantitatif non eksperimental, dengan desain penelitian kausalitas untuk menjelaskan besar pengaruh variabel academic self-efficacy terhadap academic burnout. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Academic Self-Efficacy Scale yang disusun oleh Zajacova, et al (2005) dan Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) disusun oleh Schaufeli, et al (2002) yang sudah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 294 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa kedokteran dari 3 perguruan tinggi di Kota Bandung yang mengisi kuesioner secara online. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh academic self-efficacy terhadap academic burnout pada mahasiswa kedokteran di Kota Bandung sebesar 56,2%.
