Abstract

Abstract. The Rapid digital development in the creative industry may generate technostress creators that hinder employees’ ability to psychologically detach from work. This study aimed to examine the role of technostress creators in psychological detachment among Generation Z employees working in Bandung’s creative industry. The research employed a quantitative method with a non-experimental predictive design. Data were collected through questionnaires involving 172 respondents selected using convenience sampling. The instruments consisted of the Technostress creators Scale with a response range of 1–4 and the Psychological detachment subscale of the Recovery Experience Questionnaire with a response range of 1–5. The results of a simple linear regression analysis revealed that technostress creators had a significant negative effect on psychological detachment, explaining 85.1% of its variance. This meansthat the higherthe technology-related pressure experienced by Generation Z employees, the lower their ability to mentally disengage from work during non-work time. In conclusion, technostress creators play an important role in employees’ psychological detachment. Therefore, organizations are encouraged to manage technological demands and establish clear work-related communication boundaries to support employees’ psychological recovery.
