Abstract

Abstract. Burnout is a state of psychological exhaustion resulting from prolonged, unmanaged work stress that can affect Bhabinkamtibmas, the community policing officers of the Indonesian National Police. Perceived Organizational Support (POS), an employee's belief that the organization values their contribution and cares about their wellbeing, is theorized as a job resource that may reduce burnout. This study examined the influence of POS on burnout among Bhabinkamtibmas officers of Polres Sukabumi Kota. A quantitative, non-experimental correlational design was used, involving the entire population of 93 officers across 15 police sectors. Data were collected using the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS), and analyzed with simple linear regression. Results showed that POS had a significant negative influence on burnout (β = -0.469; t = -5.070; p < 0.001), explaining 22% of the variance in burnout (R² = 0.220). Most officers reported a high level of POS (53.8%), while most reported a low level of burnout (51.6%). These findings indicate that the higher the organizational support perceived by officers, the lower their burnout, suggesting that strengthening organizational support may help protect the psychological wellbeing of Bhabinkamtibmas officers.
