Abstract. Instagram second accounts have become a space where female university students express their thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences to a more limited audience. However, concerns about being negatively evaluated may influence their willingness to engage in online self-disclosure. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of interpersonal trust in the relationship between Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) and online self-disclosure among female university students using Instagram second accounts in Bandung. A quantitative non-experimental design was employed involving 359 participants selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (BFNE) adapted into Indonesian by Hernawati and Putri (2025), the Interpersonal Trust Scale based on Rotenberg's (1994, 2010) framework and adapted by Mahayani and Bajirani (2025), and the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) adapted to the online communication context by Ariani et al. (2020). Data were analyzed using Hayes' PROCESS Macro Model 4 (Hayes, 2013) with 5,000 bootstrap samples. The results showed that FNE significantly influenced online self-disclosure and interpersonal trust, while interpersonal trust significantly influenced online self-disclosure. However, interpersonal trust did not mediate the relationship between FNE and online self-disclosure.
