Abstract. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived employability (PE) on career anxiety (CA) among senior students in the Faculty of Psychology at Bandung Islamic University. A quantitative method using a cross-sectional survey was employed, involving a sample of 150 active students (study population) from the 2019–2022 cohorts who were not yet employed full-time. The instruments used were the Self-Perceived Employability Scale and the Career Anxiety Scale. The results showed that 73.3% of students had high levels of PE, while 80.7% had moderate levels of CA. Simple linear regression analysis with Weighted Least Squares (WLS) correction using SPSS revealed a negative relationship (β = -0.441) with a significance level of p < 0.001 and R² = 0.132, meaning that PE explains 13.2% of the variance in CA. These findings are consistent with Lazarus and Folkman’s Cognitive Appraisal Theory, which positions PE as a psychological resource in secondary appraisal to mitigate negative emotional responses. The higher the PE, the lower the perceived CA. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of building a positive perception of one’s abilities and managing career anxiety adaptively, as well as encouraging proactive career exploration when facing the job search process.
