Pengaruh Transformational Leadership terhadap Work Engagement pada Taruna Akademi Angkatan Laut

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of transformational leadership on work engagement conducted on cadets of the marine corps at the Naval Academy. The research method used is quantitative research with a research design that is causality method with the number of subjects as many as 36 cadets of the marine corps at the Naval Academy. This study uses multiple regression data analysis to see the effect of the 4 transformational leadership characteristics on work engagement. This study uses a work engagement measuring tool with the Work & Well-being Survey (UWES-17) scale which refers to the theory of Schaufeli, Salanova, Gonzales-Roma & Bakker (2002) and a transformational leadership measurement tool with the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5X) scale. ) from Bass and Avolio, (1995). The results of the study can be concluded that it has a positive effect on work engagement by 37% and the dimension of inspirational motivation gives the largest and significant influence on work engagement by 21.28%.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh transformational leadership terhadap work engagement dilakukan pada taruna korps pelaut di Akademi Angkatan Laut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian yaitu metode kausalitas dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 36 taruna korps pelaut di Akademi Angkatan Laut. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data regresi ganda (multiple regression) untuk melihat pengaruh antara 4 karakteristik transformational leadership terhadap work engagement. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur work engagement dengan skala Work & Well-being Survey (UWES-17) yang mengacu pada teori Schaufeli, Salanova, Gonzales-Roma & Bakker (2002) dan alat ukur transformational leadership dengan skala Multifactor Leadership Questionaire (MLQ-5X) dari Bass dan Avolio, (1995). Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap work engagement sebesar 37% dan dimensi inspirational motivation memberikan pengaruh terbesar dan signifikan pada work engagement sebesar 21.28%.
