Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi big five personality traits terhadap job crafting pada tour guide di kota Bandung. Personality traits merupakan karakteristik atau sifat-sifat kepribadian seseorang. Ciri-ciri kepribadian dapat dijelaskan sebagai aspek yang memisahkan setiap individu dalam cara mereka berpikir, mengungkapkan emosi, dan bertindak serta merespons situasi tertentu (Costa & McCrae, 2006). Job Crafting merupakan kondisi ketika para karyawan menyadari untuk berupaya mengakomodasi pekerjaan mereka sesuai dengan karaktersitik pribadi mereka, serta memahami batasan-batasan tugas, baik relasional maupun kognitif, dari suatu pekerjaan tidak selalu ditentukan dengan tepat (Wrzesniewski & Dutton, 2001). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisi regresi berganda. Subjek yang diteliti merupakan tour guide di kota Bandung (N = 160). Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI), yang dikembangkan oleh Oliver John pada tahun 1990, dan Job Crafting Scale yang awalnya dikembangkan oleh Tims et al., pada tahun 2012. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing traits dari big five personality berkontribusi terhadap job crafting, sebesar; openness to experience (16%), conscientiousness (1,2%), extraversion (5,6%), agreeableness (28,2), dan neuroticism (-4,2%).

Abstract. This study aims to determine the contribution of big five personality traits to job crafting in tour guides in Bandung. Personality traits are characteristics or traits of a person's personality. Personality traits can be explained as aspects that separate each individual in the way they think, express emotions, and act and respond to certain situations (Costa & McCrae, 2006). Job Crafting is a condition when employees realize to try to accommodate their work according to their personal characteristics, and understand the task boundaries, both relational and cognitive, of a job are not always precisely determined (Wrzesniewski & Dutton, 2001). The research method used is quantitative method using multiple regression analysis technique. The subjects studied were tour guides in the city of Bandung (N = 160). The measuring instruments used were the Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI), developed by Oliver John in 1990, and the Job Crafting Scale originally developed by Tims et al. in 2012. Results showed that each of the big five personality traits contributed to job crafting, by; openness to experience (16%), conscientiousness (1.2%), extraversion (5.6%), agreeableness (28.2), and neuroticism (-4.2%).
