Hubungan Big Five Personality dengan FOMO pada Penggemar K-Pop di Kota Bandung
Abstract
Abstract. K-Pop fans in Bandung actively use social media to follow their idol’s activities. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is often experienced due to the high need to stay connected and access the latest information. This study examines the relationship between Big Five Personality Traits and FoMO in K-Pop fans in Bandung. This quantitative research uses a correlational design with 183 respondents aged 18–25 years. The data analysis technique is the Spearman correlation test. The results show positive relationships between extraversion and FoMO (r = 0.285, p < 0.05), agreeableness and FoMO (r = 0.167, p < 0.05), emotional stability and FoMO (r = 0.184, p < 0.05), and intellect and FoMO (r = 0.201, p < 0.05). Conversely, conscientiousness has a negative relationship with FoMO (r = -0.175, p < 0.05). This indicates that higher levels of extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, and intellect increase the likelihood of experiencing FoMO, while higher conscientiousness decreases it. These findings provide insights into the relationship between personality traits and FoMO in K-Pop fans and offer a foundation for interventions to help manage FoMO.
Sebaliknya, semakin tinggi conscientiousness, semakin rendah kecenderungan individu mengalami FoMO.
