Hubungan antara Keterlibatan Ayah dan Kesejahteraan Subjektif pada Remaja di Kota Bandung
Abstract
Abstract. In Indonesia, parental involvement is crucial for adolescent development, yet the specific contribution of fathers remains underexplored. This study examines the relationship between father involvement and adolescent subjective well-being (SWB) in Bandung. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 624 adolescents (50.16% female; 49.84% male) living with their fathers. Father involvement was measured using the Nurturant Fathering Scale (NFS), while SWB was assessed through life satisfaction (CW-SWBS5), positive affect, and negative affect (CW-PNAS). Linear regression analysis examined these relationships, considering gender, socioeconomic status (SES), and living arrangements. Findings indicated that male adolescents reported higher SWB (M = 76.45) than females (M = 70.24). NFS scores were positively associated with SWB (p < .001, β = 1.148), suggesting that father involvement significantly contributes to adolescent well-being. These results highlight the importance of engaged fatherhood in enhancing life satisfaction and emotional health among adolescents. Encouraging active paternal involvement may improve adolescent well-being in Indonesian families.
