Pengaruh Work-Family Conflict terhadap Psychological Well-Being Ibu Bekerja yang Memiliki Anak Autisme
Abstract
Abstract. Managing two roles at once, working and taking care of the family, could be challenging for working mothers. Especially for mothers who have autistic children with special needs. Often, the roles of mothers in caring for children and their work contradicted. The inability to divide the time for both roles is likely to create dissatisfaction and guilt for each role they play, which has an impact on the mother's psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the influence of work-family conflict on the psychological well-being of working mothers who have children with autism in Bandung City. The measuring instrument used was Multidimensional Measure of Work–Family Conflict that was developed by Davin S. Carlson, K. Michele Kacmar, & Larry J. William (2000) which was translated by Kuntari (2018) and Scale of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB), a measuring instrument developed by Ryff (1989) which was translated and adapted by Desiningrum (2019). This study used causality research methods and data analysis using a simple linear regression test. The results showed that the significance value was smaller than 0.05 (0.008 < 0.05) which means that there was a significant influence of work-family conflict on psychological well-being.
