Pengaruh Work Stress terhadap Work Life Balance pada Karyawan Bank X
Abstract
Abstract. Work-life balance is a major concern for all employees and organizations because it has two or more competing demands to fulfill. Work life balance and work stress go hand in hand, how employees balance their lives and how well workplace policies and practices support it. For bank employees, the emergence of a lot of work pressure triggers stress at work, namely job, physical, role and interpersonal demands. So you have to increase your working hours, and you are also unable to provide quality time for your family. The need for work-life balance arises as a response to the struggle between the personal and the professional that occurs when personal role requirements do not match organizational roles and vice versa. This research aims to find out how much work stress affects work-life balance in banking employees. Using a quantitative approach and using simple linear regression, 61 people were used as samples. Data collection was carried out using the Job Stress Scale developed by Parker & Decotiis which has been adapted and the Work-Life Balance Scale developed by Fisher which has been adapted. The research results show that there is an influence of 57.9% between work stress and work-life balance. There is a negative correlation between the variables work stress and work-life balance, that is, when work stress is low, work-life balance will be high, and vice versa.
Abstrak. Work-life balance merupakan perhatian utama bagi semua karyawan dan organisasi karena memiliki dua atau lebih tuntutan yang saling bersaing untuk dipenuhi. Work life balance dan work stress berjalan beriringan, bagaimana karyawan menyeimbangkan kehidupan mereka dan seberapa baik kebijakan dan praktik di tempat kerja mendukung. Pada karyawan bank munculnya banyak tekanan pekerjaan memicu terjadinya stres dalam pekerjaan yaitu adanya tuntutan pekerjaan, fisik, peran, dan interpersonal. Sehingga harus menambah jam kerja, dan juga tidak dapat memberikan waktu yang berkualitas untuk keluarga. Kebutuhan akan keseimbangan kehidupan kerja muncul sebagai respon terhadap pergulatan antara pribadi dan professional yang terjadi ketika persyaratan peran pribadi tidak sesuai dengan peran organisasi dan sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar work stress mempengaruhi work-life balance pada karyawan perbankan. Menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan regresi linear sederhana, 61 orang dijadikan sebagai sampel. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan Job Stress Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Parker & Decotiis yang sudah diadaptasi serta Work-Life Balance Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Fisher yang sudah diadaptasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh sebesar 57.9% antara work stress dengan work-life balance. Adanya korelasi negatif antara variabel work stress dan work-life balance, yaitu ketika work stress-nya rendah maka work-life balance yang dimiliki akan tinggi, dan sebaliknya.
