Pengaruh Transformational Leadership terhadap Work Engagement pada Karyawan Pabrik Es Saripetojo Bandung
Abstract
Abstract. Leaders who use transformational leadership styles can have a lot of potential to create a positive work environment, so that employees can feel engaged in their work. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Transformational Leadership on Work Engagement in employees of Saripetojo Bandung Ice Factory. This research uses quantitative research with a non-experimental causality approach and data collection techniques using a questionnaire in the form of a google form. The data analysis technique was carried out using simple regression. This study involved 55 employees who worked at Saripetojo Bandung Ice Factory. The measuring instruments used in this study are Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) developed by Bass & Avolio, Mind Garden, inc, and adapted by Ancok (2012). And Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-17 (UWES-17) developed by Schaufeli & Bakker (2003). The results of the study obtained an R of 0.408 and an R-Square of 0.166, it can be concluded that transformational leadership has a positive influence on work engagement by 16.6%. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that the manager of the saripetojo ice factory pay more attention to his employees by using the transformational leadership model.
Abstrak. Pemimpin yang menggunakan gaya transformational leadership dapat memiliki banyak potensi untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang positif, sehingga karyawan dapat merasakan engaged dalam pekerjaannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Transformational Leadership terhadap Work Engagement pada karyawan Pabrik Es Saripetojo Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kausalitas non eksperimen dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner berupa google form. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan regresi sederhana (simple regression). Penelitian ini melibatkan 55 karyawan yang bekerja pada Pabrik Es Saripetojo Bandung. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Bass & Avolio, Mind Garden, inc, dan diadaptasi oleh Ancok (2012). Dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-17 (UWES-17) yang dikembangkan oleh Schaufeli & Bakker (2003). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan hasil R sebesar 0,408 dan R-Square 0,166, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa transformational leadership memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap work engagement sebesar 16,6%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar manager pabrik es saripetojo lebih sering lagi memperhatikan karyawannya dengan menggunakan model transformational leadership.
