Studi Banding Gender terhadap Self-Presentation Pengguna Aplikasi Kencan di Kota Bandung
Abstract
Abstract. Dating apps have become increasingly popular for finding partners in the digital age. This study aims to gather empirical data on gender differences in self-presentation among dating app users in Bandung City. The study draws on Michikyan's (2014) theoretical framework on self-presentation to interpret the observed phenomena. A quantitative research approach was used, with data analyzed through chi-square tests. The data was collected via Google Forms questionnaires, with a total of 237 participants. The research utilized the Self-presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ) as a measurement tool. The results indicate that there are no significant gender differences in the way male and female dating app users present their real or false selves.
Abstrak. Aplikasi kencan semakin populer sebagai media untuk mencari pasangan di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan data empiris tentang perbedaan gender dalam presentasi diri di kalangan pengguna aplikasi kencan di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan kerangka teori dari Michikyan (2014) mengenai presentasi diri untuk menginterpretasikan fenomena yang diamati. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan analisis data dilakukan melalui uji chi-square. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang diakses via Google Forms, dengan total 237 peserta. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Self-presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara pengguna pria dan wanita dalam cara mereka menampilkan presentasi diri yang sebenarnya atau yang palsu.
