Pengaruh Internalisasi Tubuh Kurus Ideal terhadap Ketidakpuasan Bentuk Tubuh pada Wanita Dewasa Awal Pengguna Instagram
Abstract
Abstract. Many images on social media, especially Instagram, depict an ideal thin body. This behavior has a negative impact, creating the perception that their bodies are not ideal when compared to what they see. As a result, this can lead to dissatisfaction with their own body shape. This study aims to determine the influence of Thin Ideal Internalization on Body Dissatisfaction among early Adulthood Instagram Users. Researchers used a quantitative causality method with 391 subjects. The Body Dissatisfaction scale used the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire – Appearance Scale (MBSRQ – AS) from Cash & Pruzinsky (2002) which has been adapted by Jannah, (2022). Thin Ideal Internalization scale used The Sociocultural Attitudes Toward Appearance Questionnaire-3 (SATAQ-3) from Thompson & Heinberg (1999) which has been adapted by Nursyaifuddin (2016). This study shows that there is an influence of Internalization of the Ideal Thin Body on Body Dissatisfaction of 17.2%. Thin Ideal Internalization has a significance value below 0.05, so it can be concluded that Thin Ideal Internalization has a significant effect on Body Dissatisfaction.
