Pengaruh Playful Work Design terhadap Work Engagement pada Karyawan Departemen Kitchen Hotel di Kota Bandung
Abstract
Abstract. Playful Work Design is a concept that makes employees redesign their work to make it more fun and challenging, while work engagement is a motivational affective state characterized by vigor, dedication and absorption. This research aims to find out how much influence playful work design has on work engagement among hotel kitchen department employees in Bandung City. The total sample for this research was 108 employees of the hotel kitchen department in Bandung City. The research method used is the non-experimental causality method. This research uses a psychological scale with a playful work design scale (PWDS) measurement tool developed by Scharp & Bakker (2020) and a work engagement measuring tool (UWES-17) from Schaufeli & Bakker (2004) which was adapted by Prakoso, et al (2020). The research results show that 96.3% of hotel kitchen department employees have a high level of playful work design and 95.4% of hotel kitchen department employees have a high level of work engagement. Based on the results of multiple regression, it was found that playful work design had a positive effect on work engagement, namely 43.1%
Abstrak. Playful Work Design merupakan konsep yang membuat karyawan mendesain ulang pekerjaan yang mereka lakukan menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan menantang, sedangkan work engagement adalah keadaan afektif motivasional yang ditandai dengan adanya vigor, dedication dan absorption. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh playful work design terhadap work engagement pada karyawan Departemen kitchen hotel di Kota Bandung. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 108 karyawan Departemen kitchen hotel di Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kausalitas non eksperimental. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala psikologis dengan alat ukur playful work design scale (PWDS) yang dikembangkan oleh Scharp & Bakker (2020) dan alat ukur work engagement (UWES-17) dari Schaufeli & Bakker (2004) yang diadaptasi oleh Prakoso, et al (2020). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 96,3% karyawan Departemen kitchen hotel memiliki tingkat playful work design yang tinggi dan 95,4% karyawan Departemen kitchen hotel memiliki tingkat work engagement yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil regresi berganda ditemukan bahwa playful work design berpengaruh positif terhadap work engagement yaitu sebesar 43,1%
