Abstract. Schizophrenia is a mental illness with symptoms of psychosis and cognitive dysfunction. The prevalence of schizophrenia in Indonesia is 400,000 people. Non-adherence to antipsychotic medication has an impact on leading to disease complication, low effectiveness of drug treatment, and decreased quality of life. This study aims to determine the characteristics of patients, identify the level of medication adherence and the level of quality of life and determine relationship of medication adherence and quality of life. The research instrument used the MMAS-8 to asses medication adherence and WHOQOL-BREF to assess the quality of life and statistical correlation analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that relationship of medication adherence and quality of life in patients with hebephrenic schizophrenia at the psychiatric polyclinic RSUD R. Syamsudin, S.H. Sukabumi City had a low level of adherence and quality of life, a correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between medication adherence and quality of life (p value=0.00, P<0.05).
Abstrak. Skizofrenia merupakan salah satu gangguan kesehatan mental dengan gejala psikosis serta disfungsi kognitif. Prevalensi penderita skizofrenia di Indonesia yaitu sebanyak 400.000 orang. Ketidakpatuhan penggunaan obat antipsikotik dapat menimbulkan komplikasi, tujuan terapi tidak tercapai dan menurunkan kualitas hidup pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien, mengidentifikasi tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan obat dan tingkat kualitas hidup serta mengetahui hubungan antara kepatuhan penggunaan obat dengan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner MMAS-8 untuk menilai kepatuhan penggunaan obat dan WHOQOL-BREF untuk menilai kualitas hidup serta analisis korelasi secara statistik dengan metode chi-square. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan hubungan kepatuhan penggunaan obat dengan kualitas hidup pasien skizofrenia hebefrenik rawat jalan di poliklinik jiwa RSUD R. Syamsudin, S.H. Kota Sukabumi menunjukkan tingkat kepatuhan dan tingkat kualitas hidup rendah, serta pada hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kepatuhan penggunaan obat dan kualitas hidup (p value=0.00, P<0.05).
