Abstract. Raspberry seed oil (Rubus idaeus L.) is a natural ingredient with antioxidant potential that can be formulated into an emulsion system to support its use in pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations. This article aims to examine the antioxidant activity of emulsions containing raspberry seed oil, with a focus on the Inhibitory Concentration 50 (IC₅₀) value, using a narrative-descriptive approach based on scientific articles from 2019–2026 obtained through Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The literature analyzed includes studies on the antioxidant activity of raspberry seed oil as well as emulsion or nanoemulsion systems containing raspberry seed oil. The results of the study show that raspberry seed oil exhibits varying levels of antioxidant activity, both in its pure form and after being incorporated into emulsion systems. Differences in antioxidant activity and IC₅₀ values are influenced by oil concentration, formulation characteristics, formula composition, testing methods, sample preparation and testing conditions. The emulsion system may potentially affect the antioxidant activity of raspberry seed oil, but comparisons of IC₅₀ values across studies are still limited by differences in methods and experimental conditions. Therefore, standardization of testing methods is necessary to obtain more accurate comparisons of antioxidant activity.
