Abstract

Abstract. Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) is a major health concern that requires complex treatment and continuous monitoring. Comorbidities may worsen patients’ clinical conditions, increase the risk of complications, and affect treatment outcomes. This study aimed to describe patient characteristics, the profile of comorbidities, and treatment outcomes among DR-TB patients at Dr. H. A. Rotinsulu General Hospital. This study employed a descriptive observational design with retrospective data collection using electronic medical records of DR-TB patients during the 2024–2025 period. The data included sex, age, types of comorbidities, and treatment outcomes. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented as frequencies and percentages. The results showed that most patients were male (54.5%), and adults constituted the largest age group (39.3%). The most frequently identified comorbidity was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), affecting 25 patients (32.9%), of whom 23 recovered and 2 did not recover. Type 2 diabetes mellitus was identified in 20 patients (26.3%), with 17 patients recovering and 3 not recovering. Ischemic coronary artery disease (CAD) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were each identified in 2 patients, with 1 patient recovering and 1 not recovering. Comprehensive management and monitoring of comorbidities are necessary to support successful DR-TB treatment.

Abstrak. Tuberkulosis resistan obat (TB-RO) merupakan masalah kesehatan yang memerlukan pengobatan kompleks dan pemantauan berkelanjutan. Komorbiditas dapat memperberat kondisi klinis, meningkatkan risiko komplikasi, serta memengaruhi keberhasilan pengobatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan karakteristik pasien, profil komorbiditas, dan tingkat kesembuhan pasien TB-RO di RSUP Dr. H. A. Rotinsulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif observasional dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif melalui rekam medis elektronik pasien TB-RO periode 2024–2025. Data meliputi jenis kelamin, usia, jenis komorbiditas, dan hasil akhir pengobatan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif serta disajikan dalam bentuk frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien berjenis kelamin laki-laki (54,5%) dan kelompok usia dewasa merupakan kelompok terbanyak (39,3%). Komorbiditas yang paling sering ditemukan adalah penyakit paru obstruktif kronik (PPOK) sebanyak 25 pasien (32,9%), dengan 23 pasien sembuh dan 2 pasien tidak sembuh. Diabetes melitus tipe 2 ditemukan pada 20 pasien (26,3%), dengan 17 pasien sembuh dan 3 pasien tidak sembuh. Coronary artery disease (CAD) iskemik dan systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) masing-masing ditemukan pada 2 pasien, dengan 1 pasien sembuh dan 1 pasien tidak sembuh. Komorbiditas perlu dikendalikan dan dipantau secara komprehensif untuk mendukung keberhasilan pengobatan TB-RO.
