Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Bawang Hitam dan Bawang Putih (Allium sativum L.) terhadap Bakteri Penyebab Jerawat Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract. Garlic and black garlic have great potential as antibacterials against acne-causing bacteria. Acne is a skin disease in the form of chronic inflammation of the polysebaceous follicles caused by changes in the pattern of follicle keratinization, excessive sebum production. This study was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review method, the data used in this study were secondary data reviewed from national and international articles. Based on the literature review, it is known that garlic and black garlic have antibacterial activity against acne-causing bacteria, namely Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus. From the literature review, the antibacterial activity of garlic against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria provides a minimum inhibitory concentration of 5% while against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria it provides a minimum inhibitory concentration value of 10%. Black garlic has antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 2%, while against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria the minimum inhibitory concentration value is 10%. The typical content for garlic is allicin while black garlic is S-allyl cysteine.
Abstrak. Bawang putih dan bawang hitam mempunyai potensi besar sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri penyebab jerawat. Jerawat merupakan suatu penyakit kulit berupa peradangan kronis pada folikel polisebasea yang disebabkan oleh perubahan pola keratinisasi folikel, produksi sebum yang berlebihan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Systematic Literature Review, data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa data sekunder yang ditelaah dari artikel nasional dan internasional. Berdasarkan kajian literatur maka diketahui bahwa bawang putih dan bawang hitam memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri peneyebab jerawat yaitu Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus aureus . Dari kajian literatur, aktivitas antibakteri bawang putih terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes memberikan konsentrasi hambat minimum 5% sedangkan terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus memberikan nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum 10%. Bawang hitam memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dengan konsentrasi hambat minimun 2%, sedangkan terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum yaitu 10%. Kandungan khas untuk bawang putih adalah allicin sedangkan bawang hitam adalah S-allyl sistein.
