Gambaran Tingkat Learning Burnout pada Mahasiswa Tahap Akademik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung Tahun Akademik 2023-2024

Abstract

Abstract. Medical students often face high academic pressures that can lead to learning burnout, characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynicism toward learning, and reduced academic efficacy. This study aims to describe the level of learning burnout among academic-stage medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Bandung, for the 2023-2024 academic year. A quantitative research method with an observational design was employed. The sample consisted of 98 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), which measures three dimensions of burnout: exhaustion, cynicism, and acacdemic efficacy. The results showed that most students experienced moderate levels of burnout (67%). In the exhaustion dimension, 58% of respondents were in the moderate category, 54% showed moderate levels of cynicism, and 71% showed moderate academic efficacy. These finidings indicate that academic pressures faced by students remain within a moderate range but still require attention due to their potential impact on academic performance.

Abstrak. Mahasiswa kedokteran sering menghadapi tekanan akademik tinggi yang dapat menyebabkan learning burnout. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan kelelahan emosional, sinisme terhadap pembelajaran, dan penurunan efikasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat learning burnout pada mahasiswa tahap akademik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) Tahun Akademik 2023-2024. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain observasional. Sampel terdiri atas 98 mahasiswa yang dipilih dengan metode stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) yang mengukur tiga dimensi burnout, yaitu exhaustion, cynicism, dan academic efficacy. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa mengalami tingkat burnout pada kategori sedang (67%). Pada dimensi exhaustion, 58% responden berada pada kategori sedang, 54% responden memiliki tingkat cynicism sedang, dan 71% responden berada pada tingkat academic efficacy sedang. Temuan ini mencerminkan bahwa tekanan akademik yang dialami mahasiswa masih berada dalam tingkat moderat, tetapi tetap memerlukan perhatian karena dapat memengaruhi kinerja akademik.
