Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Kelas V SDN Cimahi Mandiri 5 Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024
Abstract
Abstract. The study was promted from the low engagement of fifth-grade students in the Islamic Religious Education learning process. Low student engagement leads to a deficiency in comprehensive student comprehension and low academic achievement. Islamic education teachers attempted to enhance student engagement by implementing the problem based learning approach, which emphasised the active involvement of students, while the teacher is solely to facilitate and guide the learning process. This study aimed to analyse the process of PAI teachers implementing the PBL learning model by the established syntax to create an engaging learning environment that actively involves students during the learning process. The research was conducted at Primary School of Cimahi Mandiri 5 using a qualitative and descriptive approach. The data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The study’s findings indicated that implemented PBL learning model be able to fostered student engagement in each phase of the PBL learning. There are five stages in PBL learning, in which at each stage the students could comprehend the problems provided with learning videos. could acquire knowledge autonomously and locate resources to solve an issue, could collaborated to resolve issues and assemble written reports, brave to demonstrated their collaboration outcomes and engaged in discussions and Q&A sessions, and could reflect on their learning experiences. Based on the research findings, it can be inferred that implementing the PBL model in 5 grade classrooms fosters an engaging learning environment by promoting student participation throughout the learning process.
Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya partisipasi siswa kelas V saat proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam. Rendahnya partisipasi ini memicu kurang maksimalnya pemahaman siswa, sehingga mampu mempengaruhi rendahnya hasil belajar. Guru PAI berupaya meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning yang menitikberatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, sedangkan guru hanya berperan sebagai fasilitator untuk memfasilitasi dan membimbing proses pembelajaran. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis proses guru PAI dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL berdasarkan ketentuan sintak yang ada sehingga dapat menciptakan suasana pembelajaran aktif dan melibatkan siswa saat proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN Cimahi Mandiri 5 dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran PBL mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang mendorong partisipasi siswa dalam setiap tahap proses pembelajaran PBL. Terdapat lima tahap dalam pembelajaran PBL, dimana pada setiap tahapnya siswa mampu memahami permasalahan yang disajikan melalui video pembelajaran, mampu belajar secara mandiri untuk mencari materi yang mendukung penyelesaian suatu masalah, mampu bekerja sama untuk memecahkan permasalahan dan menyusun laporan tertulis, berani mempresentasikan hasil kerjasamanya dan melakukan diskusi serta tanya jawab, serta mampu melakukan refleksi terhadap pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PBL di kelas 5 dapat menciptakan suasana pembelajaran aktif karena mampu mendorong siswa untuk berpartisipasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung.
