Abstract. Musculoskeletal disorders are common ergonomic problems among industrial workers, primarily caused by non-ergonomic working postures, repetitive manual activities, and excessive workload. The rubber sheet cutting activity at PT. XYZ is still performed manually, where workers are required to cut 14 rubber sheets per day with loads ranging from 58–63 kg. The bent working posture during the process has the potential to cause physical complaints, reduce work comfort, and hinder the achievement of production targets. This study aims to identify workers’ musculoskeletal complaints and assess the level of ergonomic risk in the rubber sheet cutting activity. The research employed a quantitative method with workers involved in the cutting process as the research object. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire to identify workers’ complaints. Ergonomic risk levels were assessed using the Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA) method. The results show that workers experienced musculoskeletal complaints mainly in the neck, upper back, and lower back, and the work activity was classified as having a moderate ergonomic risk level. Based on these findings, ergonomic risk control efforts are required through the design of appropriate work aids to reduce work-related risks, improve working posture, and enhance workers’ comfort and safety.
Abstrak. Gangguan muskuloskeletal merupakan permasalahan ergonomi yang umum terjadi pada pekerja industri akibat postur kerja tidak ergonomis, aktivitas manual berulang, dan beban kerja berlebih. Aktivitas pemotongan lembar karet di PT. XYZ masih dilakukan secara manual, pekerja diberi tugas memotong 14 lembar karet per hari, dengan beban 58–63 kg. Postur kerja membungkuk selama bekerja berpotensi menimbulkan keluhan fisik, menurunkan kenyamanan kerja, dan menghambat pencapaian target produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keluhan muskuloskeletal pekerja serta menilai tingkat risiko ergonomi pada aktivitas pemotongan lembar karet. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan objek penelitian pekerja pada proses pemotongan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, serta pengisian kuesioner Nordic Body Map (NBM) untuk mengidentifikasi keluhan pekerja. Penilaian tingkat risiko ergonomi dilakukan menggunakan metode Workplace Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerja mengalami keluhan muskuloskeletal terutama pada leher, punggung atas dan punggung bawah serta aktivitas kerja berada pada kategori risiko sedang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, diperlukan upaya pengendalian risiko ergonomi melalui perancangan alat bantu kerja yang sesuai untuk mengurangi risiko kerja, memperbaiki postur kerja, serta meningkatkan kenyamanan dan keselamatan pekerja.
