Abstract. The use of Instagram second accounts demonstrates that university students utilize social media not only for sharing information but also for managing self-presentation according to different audience characteristics. This study aims to examine students' self-disclosure practices and impression management through the use of second accounts as a response to differences in self-image on Instagram. A qualitative method with Erving Goffman's Dramaturgical perspective was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and digital observations involving eight university students who actively use Instagram second accounts. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model. The findings reveal that second accounts provide a space for more open self-disclosure through audience selection, privacy settings, and careful filtering of shared information. However, greater openness does not eliminate impression management. Instead, participants continue to regulate the impressions they convey by adapting their self-presentation to selected audiences. These findings suggest that second accounts should not be understood as completely unrestricted back stages, but rather as spaces of impression management that differ from primary accounts. This study extends the application of Goffman's dramaturgical perspective in digital communication by demonstrating that the distinction between front stage and back stage becomes increasingly fluid within social media interactions..
