Pengaruh Fraud Diamond terhadap Tindakan Kecurangan Mahasiswa
Abstract
Abstract. This study aims to analyze the influence of Fraud Diamond elements on academic misconduct among students at accredited Islamic private universities in Bandung. The Fraud Diamond framework, consisting of pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and capability, is used to understand the factors driving academic dishonesty. A quantitative approach with descriptive and verification methods was applied in this study, involving 100 students selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0 software. The findings indicate that pressure, such as high parental expectations and fear of failure, along with opportunities arising from weak academic supervision, are the primary drivers of academic dishonesty. Additionally, rationalization and capability, such as technical skills in utilizing technology for cheating, reinforce such behavior. The study concludes that the elements of the Fraud Diamond interact in influencing academic misconduct. Recommendations include strengthening supervision systems, integrating integrity education, and providing emotional support for students.
